Beth Ann

When I was in 5th grade, I declared I wanted to become an archaeologist. I went through a spell where I was fascinated with Egypt. It was all I could think about. Seeing how I barely left my house, going to Egypt and becoming an archaeologist was unlikely.

Then I started thinking about working with animals. I had owned pretty much everything there was as a pet and have always had a huge interest in animals and their well-being. I didn’t really want to become a veterinarian though, because I didn’t want to have to put any animals to sleep.

Then in middle school, I became heavily influenced by music. My style started to change. I used to love shopping at Hot Topic. My grandparents would often by me stuff off their website, and I always remembered thinking that the models on their site were beautiful. It was shortly after that that I decided all I wanted was to be a tattooed model, have a sleeve, and work with clothing companies.

Fast forward to now, my sleeve is still a work in progress, but I have had the chance to work with some amazing clothing companies and I am so grateful for the opportunities that have been presented to me.

  1. Can you tell us about your roots, about growing up?

*I grew up in a small town in New Hampshire. I am an only child and spent most of my time growing up with my mother and my grandparents. I enjoyed any and all sorts of animals/reptiles, spending summers by the pool with my Meme, crafting with my Pepe, and going to my friends shows in my teen years. I used to spend hours in my room listening/singing to music, having photoshoots myself using a junk camera/tripod, and making art (some things never change). I have always been somewhat introverted and struggled with anxiety. I graduated high school a year early and went to school to become a licensed Cosmetologist.

  1. What was your childhood / teenage dream? What did you wanna to become?

*I don’t know if I had a specific ‘dream’. 1. Any idols during the teenage period?

*Most of my idols during my teen years were heavily influenced by the internet 'Scene Queens’ at the time. I adored Hanna Beth, Audrey Kitching, Melissa Marie, Kelly, Eden, Kiki Kannibal, and Izzy Hilton. I tried really hard to perfect the scene hair but looking back, I failed miserably.

  1. When did you start with modeling? Can you recall your first photo session?

*My mom took some photography lessons when I was in high school. She used to have homework assignments that she would need to submit photos for. I was often the subject in her photos. I really enjoyed what we came up with and how it felt to be in front of the camera. My first official shoot was in 2009. At the time I was working as a cosmetologist in a men’s salon. I had a walk-in client that started up a conversation with me about modeling. He was a photographer in the area, liked my look, and asked if I would be interested in shooting. I was so blinded by the excitement that I agreed to it, knowing that his studio was in his home (which was in the middle of nowhere). Looking back, that probably wasn’t the best decision because I did not have anyone accompany me, but thankfully I'm still here to talk about it!

  1. Alternative model. Do you consider yourself as an Alt model? First tattoo. What was the feeling? Meaning of your tats?

*I never know how to answer when people ask me if I’m a ‘model’. I have only been compensated for a handful of shoots/collabs, but if I were to consider myself as a ‘model’ I would definitely fall into the alternative category. I am short (4’11), have a lot of tattoos, dark hair, green eyes, etc.. My goal is to make this into more of a career someday, but for now, I am focusing on my health and taking photos as a creative outlet. My first tattoo was the script across my back reading ’Stay Golden Young Dreamer’. I was 17 years old when I got it and it was lyrics from my best friends band in high school. I think it is still one of my favorites and is a daily reminder not to dim your light and keep reaching.

  1. What would be your advice to young girls who would like to start an alt modeling career?

*The only advice I would give would be to put your safety first and ask questions!  Do your research on the photographers you want to work with. Ask other models what their experiences were like. Ask the photographer questions and have a clear understanding of what each of you is going to gain out of working together (especially if this is a TF shoot). I have worked with a few photographers that honestly wasted my time and resources. After that happened a few times, I smartened up.

  1. What kind of art, in general, do you like?

*I enjoy all kinds of art. I personally do woodburning which I really enjoy. I also, paint, sketch, etc., but woodburning is definitely my favorite at this point.

  1. Any hobbies?

*My main hobby is creating photos with people. I often see an image in my head before it comes to life. I picture the outfit, location, hairstyle, etc.. It is such a beautiful feeling making all of that come to life in a photo. Sometimes it doesn’t always work out, but when it does, its worth it. Other than that, I’m very low-key and am often just hanging out at my apartment with my animals.

  1. plans for the rest of 2018 /2019?

*Unfortunately 2018 threw me for a loop. I was diagnosed with Lyme Disease in April and my entire waking moments since then have been focused on getting healthy. It’s been one hell of a journey - one I don’t wish upon anyone. With that being said, I am currently trying to relocate to Florida from New England. I’m tired of the weather here and want more opportunities in life. Plus a little more sunshine can’t hurt! My goal is to purchase a house between now and 2019. I also want to go back to school to get licensed for Laser Tattoo Removal and ultimately own my own shop in Florida.

  1. Social media accounts so people can see your work.

*I only have Instagram at this time. @_d0llpartz
