Molly - I like to purposely clash with the average and have my own signature look
Avril Lavigne has been my idol for as long as I can remember. I always saw men singing and playing guitar and Avril was the first girl I'd ever seen doing that, so I instantly fell in love with her. I thought she was just so badass and wanted to be exactly like her. I still do love her and look up to her, but my style started changing around grade seven when I started getting into Marilyn Manson--that instantly made me like my makeup and music heavier. I used to copy his makeup looks when I was 13 and started trying to learn how to sing heavy metal--which didn't successfully happen until years later. Avril and Manson are equal idols to me now; Avril made me want to be a singer in the first place and inspired me to be bold with my style, and Manson just pushed the desire to be a performer even further and made my style more theatrical.
I was raised completely surrounded by rock music; my dad builds and collects guitars and the only music I knew was hard and heavy. So even as a young kid, I was always really into heavy music and I started singing and playing guitar, particularly Avril Lavigne's songs. I was always a super dramatic kid who loved being the center of attention as well so that's where the idea of getting me into modeling came from. I was really photogenic with tons of confidence, and a fascination in makeup and fashion, so my parents took me to a local modeling agency when I was ten years old and I was signed on the spot.
My childhood dream was to be a world-renowned rock singer, actress, and fashion designer.

I got signed to an agency when I was almost eleven years old. My very first photoshoot was with Toronto photographer Jamo Best, and we did a 1940's glamour theme. I remember everyone praising that I was so natural in front of a camera and photographed so well, that there was a lot of potential for it to go further.
I definitely consider myself an alternative model. I have the right measurements, facial symmetry and bone structure to be a fashion-standard model, but I don't find that expressive enough for me. I'm now obsessed with tattoos and constantly adding to my canvas, and I also purposely keep myself as pale as possible with pitch black hair--whereas typically with models you'd think of nicely tanned skin with more natural-looking skin. I like to purposely clash with the average and have my own signature look, and that's what I'd say makes me alternative.
My very first tattoo was the same as Avril's first tattoo; it's a basic five-point star she drew with a marker, that became the logo of her first album. She got it on her left wrist so of course, I did too. I was sixteen years old and remember being very startled by how being tattooed felt, and how quickly it was over! I got addicted right from the start and got another tattoo a few months later. Now I have an almost finished sleeve on the left arm, two small ones on the right arm, and a thigh piece on my left leg. I want all four limbs and my back completely covered.
Piercings aren't totally my thing; they get caught on things and I find it annoying to have them on my face. I have spaced ears and a belly button ring, that's it. I used to have a nose ring but it kept falling out and I had it repierced four times then finally gave up! I'm not a fan of jewelry in general so I usually have basic plugs in my ears and a plain diamond ring in my belly button.
My band Living Dead Girl is literally what my life revolves around. I started being in bands when I was 14 and it never worked out. I'd post ads online, make flyers, everything I could to meet local people who played heavy metal, but it was no luck. I went through dozens of members, and they always bailed on practice, didn't learn the songs, weren't experienced enough, or tried to make me play a different style of music. It was frustrating but I tried for years, since I wanted a band so badly. I had a vision and all I needed was to meet the right people to help me bring it to life. I met my bassist, Jordan, online in February 2016 and we instantly clicked since we shared an obsession with Marilyn Manson. We kept saying "we should make a band!", even though he lives an hour and a half away from me and we didn't know any guitarists or drummers. We always dreamed about it but didn't really do much about it til months later, we found a guitarist and drummer. We played covers and jammed in my basement til the drummer moved away and the guitarist started violently threatening me. So, Jordan and I were back to square one. Fast forward to June 2017 when I met Tyler, who's an insanely talented producer, songwriter, and also plays guitar. We got writing and released our debut single "Worship Me" in September. It took me FOUR years to get a legitimate band and to release a single but I am so proud of how it turned out and how much work we put into it, and I'm super excited about our EP, which we're currently working on and will release in early 2018. Living Dead Girl is a dark heavy metal band; I'm really focusing on it being gothic and dramatic all around. Music is my creative and emotional expression and I'm going to put everything I've got into this record.

Halloween is my favorite day of the year--even though it's more of a season to me! I love getting creative with my makeup and getting to wear something even more ridiculous than what I usually wear. My friend Wayne Ferguson is an awesome photographer who I've worked with countless times over the past few years, and we've sort of made a tradition of doing Halloween shoots every year. The first year we did a dark Alice In Wonderland concept in an abandoned Prisoners Of War Camp, the second year we did a Wednesday Addams look in a spooky old house, and this year we did a SAW-inspired one also in an abandoned old house. I found some tuxedo-style lingerie at Spencer's, and an antique tricycle at my grandparents' house, and dressed up as Billy the Puppet. I love how the set turned out, and it was published in SOUR Magazine.
I love modeling lingerie, it's my favorite thing to wear! I think lacy lingerie is just the prettiest thing and it's what I model most. I've also done some more artistic modeling, dabbling with implied nudes and more artistic posing, and I really enjoy that as well. I like that I've done a bit of everything and have lots of versatility in my portfolio, but my favorite style is glamorous lingerie modeling.
My advice to anyone who wants to model--avoid agencies with a sign up fee, or who charge hundreds of dollars for photoshoots, comp cards, etc. Save your money and build a portfolio yourself with local photographers. Modelling is an occupation like any other; it takes a LOT of work to make it anywhere with it. You need to see yourself as a product and strategically think of how you want to market and sell the product. Being able to promote yourself and book everything is a must. Submit to castings and get yourself auditions. Once your portfolio is strong you can start modeling professionally, like I do now. It took lots of work to get to this point but I'm happy with how well it's been going.
I love bold art, I'm all about everything being dramatic and shocking. My favorite form of art is makeup; I do paint and draw as well but my favorite canvas is my face. I really look up to people like Jeffree Star who beautifully paint their faces and take it to a whole new level with crazy colors and daring new techniques. It's very inspirational to me.
My hobbies are singing, writing lyrics, drawing, painting, working out, makeup, cooking and baking.
Makeup is just a hobby to me but I'm very passionate about it. I'm completely self-taught, but the idea of pursuing a career in it does not interest me just because I prefer working on my own face rather than others', and I like to be creative with it rather than following specific instructions.
