Michelle Hart - Cosplay Art
When I started cosplaying I bought pre-made costumes and altered them, now I love making things from scratch...even with all of the blood, sweat, and tears.
To see yourself transformed into someone or something else is magical in a way that I can't describe.
When did you start your modeling career?
I was first published in 2007, though it certainly wasn't a career at that point in time.
Can you recall your first photo session?
Absolutely! A friend and I had decided to pose for a men's magazine for some extra cash, it was fun, inspiring, and most of all empowering.
Cosplay - tell us more about Cosplay philosophy and subculture.
Cosplay is for everyone and anyone, there is no wrong way to cosplay. I love the inclusivity in the cosplay world, it's really just a lot of people who love to dress and act as their favourite characters.
How did you go into the Cosplay world?
My first cosplay was made for me by an ex-partner, it was a Stargate uniform. Over the years I have become more and more passionate about creating and wearing my creations.
Costumes - how it works?
When I started cosplaying I bought pre-made costumes and altered them, now I love making things from scratch...even with all of the blood, sweat, and tears. To see yourself transformed into someone or something else is magical in a way that I can't describe.
Favorite character?
All-time absolute favorite is Deadpool. He's just so raw as a personality, he says what most people are thinking. It's refreshing.
Advice for people who would love to start with Cosplay?
Start with something comfortable. There's no need to spend a heck load, I regularly raid my local thrift stores for base parts.
Next project?
Wilma Flintstone
Plans for 2019?
I just booked accommodation for Avcon in Adelaide, it's predominantly a gaming/cosplay convention. Oh, and my birthday is during Supanova Melbourne so that'll be quite wild!
