My advice for young girls wanting to model would be if you want it, work for it and you can have it.

That not only applies to modeling but with life in general. Modeling is a hard industry to get into. You either have to have “the look” or be well connected to really make it to the top.

It takes a lot of time, hard work and patience to be a model. It took me years to finally meet the right person to jumpstart my career in modeling and at times I wanted to give up because I wasn’t seeing progress.

I’m glad I didn’t give up on my dream to be a model because it’s truly my passion. If you’re willing to put in the work and keep pushing through even when it gets tough, you will make it. It’s not going to happen overnight but once you get to a certain level in your career it’ll only motivate you to go harder until you get to the top.

1. Can you tell us about your roots, about growing up?

2. What was your childhood / teenage dream? What did you wanna to become?

3. Any idols during the teenage period?

  1. Growing up I lived a pretty normal life. I was born and raised in Jacksonville Florida in a single parent household. My mom was the best! She always made sure my brother and I had everything we needed while still implementing structure and discipline.
  2. As a child, I never really knew what I wanted to be when I got older and to be honest I still don’t know. I take life as it comes to me. I’ve never been the type of person who has their whole life planned out step by step. I just go with the flow of life and whatever opportunities come my way I’ll explore them.
  3. I wasn’t the typical teen that idolized celebrities. Now don’t get me wrong, there are celebs I admire and respect ( Rihanna, Tyra Banks, Gisele Bundchen) to name a few but to idolize an individual, in my opinion, is a bit redundant.

4. When did you start with modeling? Can you recall your first photo session?

5. Can you tell us about your favorite place for a photo session /so far/?

6. Your most interesting photo session?

  1. I started actively modeling about 4 years ago. It was a few months after I gave birth to my daughter. A friend of mine who was also in the modeling industry told me about her modeling group (ione fashions) and that they were always looking for new models and that it would be a great way to get my foot in the door. So I sent her a message and we set up a test shoot. I was so nervous because I didn’t really know what I was doing or what to expect. Not to mention the fact that I never really wore make up so I had to YouTube how to apply make up. Needless to say it turned out pretty terrible but I kept it on and showed up anyways. The shoot went better than I was expecting. I was so worried about posing and facial expressions but somehow it all just flowed and came together. Shorty after the shoot I received a message that I was now apart of the group and that was the start of my modeling journey.
  2. My favorite place to shoot is studio 3e located here in Jacksonville Florida. When you see the outside, it looks like an abandoned warehouse but one you get inside its completely different. They have so many different sets, back drops and props it’s amazing. Its like a one stop shop for photoshoots.
  3. The most interesting photoshoot I’ve done was an Edward scissor hand theme. It was close to Halloween time and I wanted to do something different from the usual sexy kitten or school girl type photoshoot. I feel like models now a days are obsessed with looking pretty all the time and I wanted to switch things up and try looking ugly for a change but in a creative way. So I watched the movie a few time to get a feel of his character and I have to say this was one of the most challenging shoots I’ve done. I was so used to looking fierce and sexy in my photos and I had to portray hurt fear and sadness. It was certainly different, but I can say it was a fun shoot and the photos did in fact get published.

7. Who is in charge of yours Makeup and hairstyle?

8. What would be your advice to young girls who would like to start modeling career?

9. What kind of art, in general, do you like?

  1. My go to make up artist would have to be Candice Alvita. I met her once I joined Ione. She was the mua for the group and I fell in love with her work. She always delivers and knows the exact makeup look to do that will compliment the overall shoot. Now my hair is another story. I have many hair stylists because I love changing my hair. I like to switch thing up and try new looks. My hair always reflects my moods. When I’m feeling happy I’ll have like big curls or when I want to make a statement I’ll throw in some color. I’m always excited to try a new style, it makes me feel like a different person every time.

  3. I feel like art is too broad of a category to filter into favorites. Anything could be considered art in my opinion. For example, food could be a form of art. You’re taking different components of colors, flavors and textures to create something beautiful. That’s basically what art is. A human form of creativity, so it’s hard to narrow it down to a single art form.

10. Any hobbies?

11. plans for 2018 ?

  1. Besides spending time with a wonderful daughter I enjoy spending time planning and brainstorming new ideas for my modeling. Whether is coming up with photoshoot ideas or planning networking events I’m always thinking of ways to elevate myself and my career.
  2. My plans for 2018 is to dominate the Jacksonville modeling scene. I’d also like to travel more this year and really branch out and network with different photographers and designers.
