Cammie Cooper

I started modeling as an adult.  It's a misconception that you should be in your teens to start modeling.
There is no such thing as being too old to pursue a dream.  There are models in their 30s (like myself) and 40s and beyond, working and making a nice paycheck.
In my teens, with a friend as the photographer, I would do practice photo sessions, being silly and practicing posing.
Practice makes perfect!
My first professional photo session, I was VERY nervous.
Thankfully the other women were very positive and made me feel comfortable.
They helped to make me feel comfortable and gave me some great tips.
Your confidence exudes in your photos.

I was born and raised in small-town Northern Ontario Canada.  My father moved around a lot for work and we finally settled in SouthWestern Ontario.  I'm proud to be Canadian and a neighbor to the United States of America.  Being born and raised in North America has offered me so many opportunities and I feel so blessed.

When I was a teenager, I wanted to move to New York City!  New York City was where I was going to make it big and be discovered hahaha  Discovered as what?  I'm not too sure!  I just knew that a lot of famous people start their careers in New York.  I may not have moved to New York but I did move to Dubai.  I lived in Dubai for 5 years!  I will never forget the influential people I met during my years in the Middle East.  The people I met helped to mold me into the person I am today.

I was a teenager in the 1990s.  My idols were the Spice Girls (still are), Destiny's Child (Beyonce) and I wanted to be just as bad-ass as Buffy in Buffy the Vampire Slayer!

My first nude photo session was with Colin S of Visions of Paradox.  It is always a great pleasure to work with Colin.  He pays attention to the finer details and manages to find interesting perspectives when we are working together.  He makes my body look beautiful.  It's important to be with a photographer who makes you feel comfortable and who is professional in a moment when you feel you are at your most vulnerable.  Colin has these qualities down to a fine art.  When you see the final photos, you realize just how beautiful and powerful every curve and form of your body is.

GO FOR IT!  Don't let anyone or anything hold you back!  Don't give up!   Learn to pose - practice posing in front of your camera.  Get out there on social media ... you never know who will notice you!
Search for and go to open casting calls!  Learn from other women and uplift each other!  Hold your head up high ... higher ... higher ... you got it ;)
Watch out for scams and be safe!  It doesn't really matter how many say No, it only takes one Yes!

Promoting a body positive image and being a body activist for me is inclusive of EVERYBODY.  Young, old, every shape and size etc.  Promoting self-love for a healthy self-image.  It means not making or participating in negative comments or talk about others appearances and supporting others in their journey to self-love.  And importantly, continuously speaking to myself with positive talk and loving/kind words only.

Surround yourself with messages that promote body-acceptance and self-love.  Follow body-positive Instagram feeds, Facebook pages and Twitter Feeds.  Learns from others confidence.  Find beauty in others "flaws" and you will find them in yourself.
