Pinky - Cosplay is fun
My advice for a beginner cosplayer would be to just be yourself.
For most people, cosplay is a way to escape reality.
Just because you cosplay a certain character does not mean you have to act like that character.
When I cosplay I'm not worried about being too into character, I'm mostly in it to have fun. Which leads into my second piece of advice, have fun. Always have fun when you are doing anything, whether it is for cosplay or not.
Having fun, to me, is one of the more important parts of cosplaying.
When did you start your modeling career?
I started modeling about two and a half years ago, I went to a meet up in London called Streetraitz with a friend of mine and it all went from there!
Can you recall your first photo session?
Yes, I can aha, the same friend mentioned earlier is also a photographer. We went to a studio that she uses and tried different lenses and backgrounds just to get a feel for it.
Cosplay - tell us more about Cosplay philosophy and subculture.
I’m fairly new to the cosplay world but for anyone else looking to get into it it’s not just putting on a fancy costume and going out in public. No matter if you make your cosplay or buy it, there is a whole philosophy behind it. It’s not only an activity, it is a lifestyle. If you ever go to a cosplay convention, like MCM or Hyper Japan, or anything in between, disrespect is forbidden. It is very rude to disrespect cosplayers. Be it about their experience, their gender, their body type, judging cosplayers is not advised. Cosplay is an activity of open-mindedness, creativity, but mostly fun. Cosplay is all about having fun.
How did you go into the Cosplay world?
Actually through my partner and my best friend. My partner is heavily into PC games so I know a lot of characters, and my friend is into anime & PC gaming. I went to MCM for the first time last October and absolutely loved it! So I decided to give it a go
Costumes - how it works?
How it works is quite simple. For me, it was finding someone I liked but was easy (my first attempt after all) so I went for Wednesday Adams. I copied the character as best as I could with a black wig, black dress, and a white collar. But in no way do you have to copy the character exactly; sometimes the best cosplays are creative interpretations.
Favorite character?
I’ve cosplayed four now: Wednesday Adams, Harley Quinn, Jana & Kotori Minami (all with the help of my friend Bella ). Out of those, I’d say Jana as the costume was beautiful, but a character I haven’t done? I’d like to try Ariel or maybe Kim Possible.. I can't pick a favourite.
Advice for people who would love to start with Cosplay?

Next project?
Expanding!! I’d love to try to make a few costumes if I can or buy them already made. Expand my wig collection if possible? There’s a whole world to explore aha but hopefully attending the next MCM in May!
Plans for 2019?
Attending MCM in May and possibly Hyper Japan; also attending as many modelling meets that are available as they’re the perfect way to network and meet new people; London Horizons, Don’t Blink & Streetraitz are a few I’ve been to already.
