Mrs. Lady Luxe - Embracing Womanhood

I really stared embracing womanhood through photography post pregnancy. At first I found it really hard to adjust to the changes in my body and my more ‘voluptuous/curvier’ figure. I decided I needed to start embracing my sensuality and get back in touch with my body and sexy photoshoots helped me achieve this. Seeing beautiful/sensual photos of myself creates an empowering experience of knowing I am beautiful just as I am.

My goal is to inspire other women to get used to being themselves by embracing their sensuality. It is an incredible way to break through that discomfort and turn it into a powerful feeling of being good enough. I want women to wear what makes them feel good, and for me it’s lingerie. It makes me feel confident, sexy, and liberated.

The perfect quote to sum this up is
“It’s not about seducing men, it’s about embracing womanhood” - Dita Von Teese

I started modelling around 16 years of age. I was chosen to be the face of Clean & Clear skin products. I appeared in every issue of Dolly Magazine in Australia (nationally) every month for a year. I also attended events and spoke to other teenagers about the importance of looking after your skin. This was my foot into the industry and was an incredible opportunity.

Femininity to me, is getting back in touch with your body and embracing your sensuality. I know a lot of women who experience difficulties feeling confident in their own skin. Getting comfortable with your sensuality, helps to eliminate some barriers that exist when it comes to feeling sexy. When you explore your sensuality, you get to know what makes you feel good about yourself and it allows you to be yourself without any shame.

I am in love with the lingerie from SHEIN.COM
There is so much variety and it really allows you to find styles that will enhance your figure. They are amazing quality and I’ve found the styles are different to what you see on social media.
It’s nice feeling like you’re wearing something that’s a one off piece (even though it’s not).

I absolutely love Pin Up Couture. I’ve always been inspired by women like Marylin Monroe, Dita Von Teese & Idda Van Munster. They all express themselves in a sexy yet classy and tasteful way and that’s exactly what I’ve been trying to achieve through my photos.

My advice would be to experiment with taking photos of yourself before you jump straight into the modelling industry. It sounds silly, but taking ‘selfies’ and working on poses that flatter your body will help when being in front of the camera in a room full of people. You also have to have thick skin. There is a lot of criticism which comes with being in the industry and you just have to learn not to listen to the negativity and focus on the positivity you receive.

My family (especially my husband), have always been supportive of me modelling, however they we’re a little shocked when I told them my new found love was in boudoir/lingerie photography.

Because of the standards society projects on to women about what they should/shouldn’t be doing, wearing and saying, they are still adjusting to my more ‘modern’ view on female empowerment and
embracing womanhood. However, they see how much more confident I am in myself and how I’m helping other women, so that’s all that matters.

Body Positivity to me is about embracing your flaws. It’s not worrying about fat rolls, blemishes, cellulite, scars and so on. It’s about accepting yourself completely and allowing yourself to feel confident
regardless of your imperfections.
